In the Neighbourhood - BBBlooms

With Mother's Day coming up next weekend, we are all looking for a little something special to give the most important lady in our lives. On this week's stroll through the neighbourhood, we found the perfect place to shower Mama with love, BBBlooms Floral Studio.

Five years ago this charming shop moved from its location on King St to 62 Welland Avenue in St. Catharines. With its high ceilings and huge windows, this space has beautiful light streaming in and is the ideal setting for the gorgeous flowers it beholds inside. BBBlooms owner, Brad Baker, named his shop after his late mother, whose initials were BB. A woman who lived her life with a passion for flowers and art, this is carried on in her namesake with the unbelievably creative arrangements Brad creates. Some of his most inspired work can be seen in his unique window displays, which Brad admits it's a challenge to continually create, but they are definitely worth it.

BBBlooms creates unique, modern designs for weddings, corporate functions, special occasions, and a way to brighten someone's day. On our tour of the shop we were surprised and thrilled to learn that Brad runs workshops for all occasions and ages. From whimsical children's workshops to seasonal wreaths and urns there is a class for everyone. In preparation for patio season, there will be a Succulent Terracotta Ring workshop in May for that tricky space on the patio table that the umbrella goes through. In addition to this, Brad has also created a special "guy's corner" to help service his male clientele - after all, they are some of his best customers.

We loved this beautiful space and were so taken with Brad and his designs. With a welcoming entrance right into the workspace, you are free to wander around and find something that suits your needs or current mood. If you are looking for something Mom will love on May 8th, stop by and see Brad. One helpful tip though, shop early, as Mother's Day is one of the busiest of the season and Brad and his work are in high demand!
